Mike Starchuk
Mike Starchuk is running for City Councillor, in his hometown of Surrey, BC.
This website has information about Mike, his career in firefighting and his love for, and commitment to, the City of Surrey.
It also contains information about the Surrey First team – a coalition of independent, non-partisan, community voices working together to build a better Surrey.
Mike has, throughout his career as a Surrey Fire Fighter, always been involved and worked in the community. With your support, he would like to continue that work, by representing Surrey on City Council.

Over the coming months, as we approach Surrey’s 2014 civic election, I hope to use this blog to help share and promote my plans and platform.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
On the weekend, I completed both sides of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge… donating to ALS Canada, and taking one for the team!
Thanks to Surrey City Councilor Linda Hepner for the nomination.
In my turn, I call out retired Capt Peter Choy, Rookie RCMP Constable Trish Douglas, Surrey Social Advocate Vera LeFranc & Denise Douglas… You have 24 hours to donate to an ALS charity, or take the challenge. (Or, preferably, BOTH!)
In my video I talk about Augie’s story… here is a link to the Augie’s Quest website.
